The publication
About the publication
Stage & Sentence is an independent editorial publication about theatre, music, literature and expressive writing. The journal is presented at sophiehunter.net. It is not Sophie Hunter’s official website, is not authorised to speak on her behalf and does not claim an association with her representatives or collaborators.
Our starting point
We are interested in the choices that give art a form: how a stage space directs attention, how music changes a scene and how a sentence becomes memorable. The opening edition combines source-led artist coverage, introductory arts criticism and original exercises for readers who enjoy making things themselves.
Our writing addresses curious general readers. It distinguishes recorded facts about real people and productions from interpretation, hypothetical examples and practical suggestions. We do not claim to have attended performances discussed through published documentation.
A note on this domain
The domain’s earlier ownership and official status have not been established by the research used for this edition. References elsewhere on the internet are not sufficient to verify an earlier official relationship. This publication does not claim continuity with a previous site or inherit its authority. Current professional information about Sophie Hunter can be found through her profile at Maestro Arts and its linked artist website.
Images and attribution
The images in this edition are generated editorial illustrations of imagined settings. They are not documentary photographs of Sophie Hunter, named productions or real venues. Quotations are brief, attributed and linked to identifiable texts. Message examples and exercises are original editorial material unless otherwise indicated.
